Casual Home Care Maintenance Worker

JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Home Care Worker will be required to provide general maintenance services indoors/outdoors for the established Home Care and Homemaking Program for the community of Fisher River. The objective is to provide minor home maintenance (at request of Home Care Coordinator) to the HCCP clients based on the assessed needs. The goal is to promote self-care and independence for the client in the familiar environment of their home.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Home Care Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal training and/or a minimum of two years’ experience in General Laborer and/or home repair/maintenance;
Current CPR/First Aide and WHIMS Certification, or willing to take training;
Excellent physical (heavy lifting involved), mental & emotional health so as to handle the stresses of the job;
Excellent organizational & motivational skills so as to manage multiple tasks and to work on his/her own;
Able to take direction and follows through to completion of tasks and able to work as a team member;
Excellent communication skills, respectful and courteous;
Valid Manitoba Drivers’ License and use of vehicle, as pertains to job;
Must abide by Fisher River Cree Nation’s Policies/Procedures and must adhere to Illegal Drug Testing, Criminal Record Check, must also submit clear Adult/Child Abuse Registry.
