Call for Intertribal Child and Family Services Board Members

Fisher River Cree Nation (FRCN) members interested in being part of the Intertribal Child and Family Services Board are to submit a letter of interest. F.R.C.N. is seeking ONE (1) Member to fill a position beginning July 2022 and ending March 31, 2025. This will be a (3) three-year Term.

Selection of qualified individuals will be determined by FRCN Leadership once submissions are complete as per Section 2.2 (t) of the FRCN Governance Code which states all boards representatives and committee members will be appointed.

Qualifications of Directors:

a. Is a Band Member of Fisher River Cree Nation;
b. Is not an elected member of the Chief and Council or is otherwise a member of the Chief and Council of a member First Nation;
c. Is not an employee of the Authority or a member of the Board of the Authority;
d. Is not employed directly or indirectly by the Agency;
e. Does not have an open file as a client of the Agency or any other CFS agency, nor has not had an active file with the Agency or other CFS agency for the previous two years.
f. Is 18 years of age or older;
g. Has the ability to actively participate in Board deliberations;
h. Exhibits a demonstrated commitment to the objectives of the Agency;
i. Has not been charged with any indictable offence under the Criminal Code of Canada and who has not been convicted under the Criminal Code of Canada for a period of three (3) years prior to his or her appointment to the Board; has no convictions for any indictable offence for a period of five (5) years prior to his or her appointment to the Board;
j. Has never been convicted of any offence involving children and consents to a Child Abuse Registry check, criminal record check and prior contact check;
k. Is not and has never been listed on the Child Abuse Registry;
l. Is not in breach or in conflict with the Agency’s Board of Director Code of Conduct & Policy on Conflict of Interest or any other policy enacted by the Board;
m. Does not have bankruptcy status.
