JOB SUMMARY: The Fisher River Cree Nation Health Services requires a Registered Nurse to provide public health and treatment services for the community of Fisher River Cree Nation;
Under the direction of the Nurse in Charge, the Community Health Nursing component includes:
- Public Health Education
- School Health
- Clinical and community health services
- Immunization
- Prevention services
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or Diploma Prepared Nurse with related Community Health experience, advanced training and/or experience in nursing management;
- Active practicing membership with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba;
- Current CPR & First Aid;
- BTLS/ITLS Certification;
- Knowledge of Fisher River Health Services Mandate and of Community Health related to physical, mental, emotional & spiritual health;
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to complete correspondence, documents and reports;
- Skills and ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written);
- Skills and ability to foster positive human and public relations;
- Experience and skills in handling challenging and stressful situations, must participate in Emergencies/Pandemic Campaigns when required;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Excellent physical, mental and emotional health;
- Reliable and demonstrates personal motivation and initiative;
- Demonstrates a respectful and positive attitude towards colleagues, management, board and the general public;
- Must be willing to participate in continuing education and personal/professional development as it relates to the work area;
- Proficient in computerized programs; knowledge of eHealth Solutions;
- Must abide by FRCN Policies & Procedures, including adhering to Illegal Drug Policy;
- A valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License;
- Must be COVID-19 double-vaccinated.
