1.0 EFT – NADAP Worker
JOB SUMMARY:
The NADAP Worker will work in a multidisciplinary environment utilizing internal and external services to meet the needs of the community members who are seeking support. The NADAP Worker will help clients work toward the maintenance and enhancement of their physical, intellectual, social and emotional well-being. The NADAP Worker will coordinate referral criteria for members requesting assistance with, education, prevention, treatment and after-care plan.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Mental Health Team Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma/Certificate in Counselling/Therapy skills;
- Experience facilitating workshops/group sessions and one-on-one client health education;
- Facilitate and maintain strong prevention and awareness sessions/workshops/groups and/or individual teachings with a holistic approach to each;
- Maintain a professional code of ethics when providing direct services to members who are seeking internal and external services;
- Maintain a structured prevention & awareness program with up-to-date information on addiction related health issues;
- Effective critical incident response skills;
- Excellent physical, mental and emotional health;
- Multidisciplinary team approach;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Proficient in office skills and computerized systems;
- Basic work plan & budgeting knowledge;
- Own a vehicle and possess a valid Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License;
- Must be willing to travel when required;
- Must be willing to comply with a Criminal Record Check, Adult Abuse Registry and Child Abuse Registry;
- Must be willing to abide with the FRCN Illegal Drug By-law;
- Must be Covid-19 double-vaccinated, proof upon hiring.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide a range of Addictions support services in the areas of prevention and health promotion for the clientele of Fisher River Cree Nation that may include:
- Abuse Prevention;
- Arrange and facilitate weekly AA Meetings, at times: other evening meetings for Ala-Teen and Family Support;
- “Flex-time” (exchange of daytime hours for evening hours, may include on-call duties) for programming;
- Consultation/Assessment;
- Single Parent Groups Men/Women;
- Pre/Postnatal Care clientele;
- Youth Activities, young men and young women groups.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES:
- Maintain and provide monthly activity reports to Supervisor;
- Work towards establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with the Fisher River Cree Nation Chief & Council and internal/external resources/entities;
- Maintain an electronic file for data keeping;
- Participating in meetings and workshop facilitation;
- Distributing and interpreting appropriate information;
- Being aware of other programs – philosophies, objectives and resources;
- Maintain and follow through with yearly work plan and budget;
- Participate in monthly meetings/updates/reporting;
- Maintain a resource and supply list on annual basis.
