(1) Youth Support Worker
(6 month term position)
Under the direction of the Employment & Training Coordinator and the Program Coordinator, the candidate must posses the following:
Qualifications for the Youth Support Worker, must be able to:
- Work as a team member and contribute to the center
- Communicate well with the children and youth
- Out of school for 6 months
- Have motivation and work independently
- Have a positive attitude to influence the youth
- Be a role model to the youth of the community
- Must be 18 and older to apply
- Be reliable and on time for work daily
- Be flexible to work evenings & weekends
- Hours of work 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, hours may fluctuate
- Must adhere to FRCN Policies & Procedures, including the Illegal Drug By-law, Vaccination Policy etc;
- Must provide with resume, current Criminal Record Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
- Grade 12 diploma an asset
- Fisher River Band Member
Duties of the Youth Support Worker:
- Lead and Coordinate leisure programs for the youth
- Plan, implement and evaluate programs for the youth
- Schedule and arrange for leisure activities appropriate for community
- Create awareness for youth programs
- Implement activities with holistic approach (physical, mental spiritual, emotional)
- Daily janitorial and maintenance of the youth drop in center (inside & out)
