Program Coordinator
Term Position to end of March 2024 with potential extension, based on funding.
Fisher River Human Resource Program is presently seeking a highly motivated and enthused individual for the position as Youth Employment Coordinator. Main functions of position are to work with all youth employment programs, supervising youth employees, coordinate activities of youth programs and report to Employment & Training Supervisor.
Key Duties:
- Set up Training Programs within the Community
- Assist Clients with Unemployment Applications
- Assist Clients with Resumes
- Maintain organized and up-to-date files for each youth worked with while following proper documentation procedures
- Writing proposals and reports for programs and activities
- Coordinate Youth Mentorship Program, Youth Support Worker Program & other youth programming within the community.
- Work independently with youth and maintain open, direct communication with all program resources (maintaining the appropriate level of confidentiality).
- Post youth jobs
- Carry out appropriate record keeping functions as required
- Participate in regular staff meetings, staff development and training sessions
- Participate in planning committees/working groups
- Work within Fisher River Cree Nation policies, procedures and philosophy
- Work with organizations to find suitable work experience that will benefit the youth employees
- Establish points of contact with employers and training programs
- Keep informed of activities at Youth Drop in Center
- Work extensively with the public
- Must adhere to FRCN Policies & Procedures, including the Illegal Drug By-law, Vaccination Policy etc.
- Must provide with Resume, Criminal Record Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
- And other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Post-Secondary education an asset
- Proficient with computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Email, Internet)
- Class 5 drivers license an asset
- Oral communication; Working with others
- Problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organizing,
- Punctual, meticulous, reliable and able to work independently
- Able to work directly with youth
