Fisher River Board of Education invites applications for Special Education Teachers at Charles Sinclair School & Fisher River High School for the 2023/2024 school year.
Criteria:
- Certified Teacher with Special Education/Resource Teacher Certificate
- Dependable and well organized
- Experience working with children and youth
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
- Willing to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of speaking and/or writing the Cree Language would be an asset, willing to learn the Cree Language
- Must adhere to the Fisher River Cree Nation Illegal Drug Bylaw and submit to employment drug testing.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as a member of a multi-disciplinary team which may include parents, students, classroom teacher, education Assistant(s) school administration, clinicians and other professionals.
- Directing support services to students and parents.
- Managing and coordinating the special education services with the school resource teachers.
- Maintaining positive human relationships.
- Utilize the Cree language and local culture.
- Perform duties as assigned.
