Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Personal Care Home (PCH) Executive Director, the Human Resources Manager develops and implements a PCH Human Resource Plan reflecting PCH Standards and the mission/vision.
Establishes, coordinates, maintains and implements the PCH Employee Orientation and Training & Development Program; Establishes, maintains and implements an Employee Recruitment and Retention Plan; Manages, maintains and implements the PCH Human Resources Policy and Procedures; Administers and manages the PCH Employee Benefits Program; and, other related duties to Human Resource management.
Education/Skill Requirements:
- Certified training course in Human Resources Management with a minimum of 3 – 5 years related work experience.
- Knowledge of the technical and legal boundaries and parameters of federal/provincial labour standards and applying provincial long term care standards as they relate to human resource management.
- Knowledge and/or work experience in human resource related work in a health care setting.
- Knowledge and skills in office administrative procedures, including the ability to operate Word, Excel, and Power Point computer programs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to relate well both verbally and non-verbally with PCH department supervisors and PCH employees.
- Excellent physical, mental, and emotional health so as to manage well with the stress of human resource management and employee relations work.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and address & maintain positive employee working relationships.
- Respects confidential information of residents, staff and personal care home, as per the PCH’s Oath of Confidentiality requirement.
- Knowledge of speaking and/or understanding the Cree and/or Ojibway language would be an asset.
