 RECREATION ASSISTANT (9-MONTH TERM POSITION to FEBRUARY 28, 2025)

Fisher River Cree Nation is presently seeking for a 9 Month Term Position for a Recreation Assistant to work under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator the incumbent will assist in coordinating and implementing recreational activities by providing the following key activities:

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Assist Recreation Coordinator in managing and coordinating recreational activities;
  • Assist in developing and suggesting a schedule of recreational activity events;
  • Assist in developing and carrying out an annual work-plan of recreational activities;
  • Act on behalf of the Recreation Coordinator in his/her absence;
  • Except suggestions from the public on preferred activities and assist in implementing;
  • Assist in coordinating, planning leagues and tournaments;
  • Assist in securing funds for recreational activities;
  • Must be willing to work evenings and occasional weekends, if recreational activities occur (such as Treaty, etc)
  • Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity;
  • Must be flexible with time and scheduling;
  • Must have adequate computer skills;
  • Must be able to complete event reports and monthly financial reports;
  • Must be willing to travel for work and training;
  • Must be able to plan, organize and deliver children and youth programs and community events;
  • Must be able to work alone or with a team;
  • Must be available to assist and coordinate in all community annual events;
  • Must be able to communicate with community members to determine needs and interests
  • One year term position commencing: June 2024  to February 28, 2025
  • Other duties as assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 or G.E.D. or relevant work experience,
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, class 5,
  • Excellent planning and organizational skill,
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision,
  • Must have a valid Manitoba Driver’s License with access to reliable vehicle
  • Must adhere to FRCN Policies & Procedures, including the Illegal Drug By-law, etc;
  • Must provide with resume, current Criminal Record Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
