EVENT WORKER / PROGRAM FACILITATOR

Job Summary:          

Jordan’s Principle Program Facilitator / Event Coordinator will fill the gaps in services through programming and supporting children and their families. Programs based on a holistic (mental, emotional, spiritual and physical) child-centered approach will enhance the overall quality of life children and their families.

The Facilitator / Event Coordinator is a member of the Fisher River Jordan’s Principle interdisciplinary team and will be responsible for the following:

  • Program Development, Facilitation and Reporting of Program / Community Evens;
  • Plan, guide and manage community group events to meet the holistic child-centred service plan;
  • Fill the needs of supports for families in the community;
  • Responsible for program development, facilitation, budgets and reporting;
  • Providing support to youth with a one to one approach; and also to parents by developing support groups;
  • Participate as a team member and be open to other areas needed in the organization as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Event Management, Communications or Facilitation Coordinator, or similar with a minimum of two years of experience in planning events for children and families;
  • Advocacy skills when supporting clients and a professional demeanor;
  • Excellent verbal, communication, facilitation, customer service and time management skills;
  • Proficient in computers, technical and written skills;
  • Knowledge of Fisher River Cree Nation traditions and lifestyles

  • Criminal Record Check (current)
  • 3 References (1 from most recent employer);
  • Valid Manitoba Driver’s License and access to own vehicle is a priority
