Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor, the Laundry Aide is responsible for providing complete laundry services to the PCH residents and departments under a quality assured housekeeping/laundry program. The Laundry Aide is responsible to collect, sort, and wash laundry and linen, and place clean items accordingly, while ensuring a clean and safe work environment for residents, departmental staff, and visitors.
Qualifications & Duties
- Minimum of Grade 8 and/or completion of one year experience in laundry services.
- Current First Aid/CPR & WHMIS required or willing to acquire
- Must be capable to complete all tasks and checklists daily.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Reliable, responsible, accountable and able to work with under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work under stressful situations and must therefore be physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and establish and maintain positive working relationships towards residents, co-workers, supervisors, management and towards the general public.
- Respects confidentiality of residents, staff and personal care home information.
- Follow the PCH human resource policy, in addition to all other policies and guidelines relating to workplace health and safety, infection control, and including the PCH Fire Disaster and Evacuation Plan.
- Updated Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check required with resume.
