RECYCLING & WASTE MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR (5 1/2 Month Term Position to end of November 28, 2025)       

The Recycling & Waste Management Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the landfill site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Recycling & Waste Management Coordinator will report to the Director of Operation and is responsible for all Waste Management, equipment use, security, storage areas, site engineering/planning for new active cells, and reclamation and re-vegetation.
  • The fiscal responsibilities will be to maintain operations records, track costs, prepare budgets in a cost effective and efficient manner that will ensure that the band landfill operational finances are accurate and up to date.
  • Perform the day to day processing of Waste Management to ensure that the landfill is maintained in an effective, environmental safe and accurate manner.
  • Provide Administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient landfill operations.
  • Must be willing to work seven (6) days a week, Monday – Saturday.
  • Must be willing to work to different shifts to ensure the Landfill site is available to the FRCN 6 days a week.
  • Direct responsibility for hazardous waste operations, waste minimization, waste recycling and landfill diversion.
  • Promote and raise awareness of environmentally sustainability of waste operations; whether based upon legislative, best practices or corporate standards for ethical and social responsibility.
  • Must adhere to FRCN Policies & Procedures, including the Drug By-Law, Social Media etc.
  • Potential Start Date from: Monday, June 16th, 2025
  • Perform all other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 or G.E.D. or relevant work experience;
  • Valid driver’s license, class 5;
  • Must be in good physical shape and able to meet the physical demand;
  • Must be responsible for own transportation to work-site;
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions;
