Resident Support/Outreach Worker
1.0 FTE (80 hours by-weekly)

The First Nation Healing Centre is a non-profit organization which is presently seeking a Resident Support /Outreach Worker. The Resident Support/Outreach Worker is to provide essential support to individuals facing housing instability, mental health challenges, and other social barriers. This role involves direct client engagement, crisis intervention, and coordination of community resources to promote stability and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site and outreach support to residents and community members.
  • Assist clients in accessing housing, healthcare, employment, and social services.
  • Conduct client assessments to determine needs and develop individualized support plans.
  • Offer crisis intervention, emotional support, and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitate life skills workshops, including budgeting, job readiness, and wellness programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Collaborate with social service agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure they receive necessary resources and support.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and program development.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, or a related field; Grade 12 Diploma,
  • Experience: Previous experience in outreach work, social services, or residential support preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with housing programs, mental health services, and community resources.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must have a Valid Drivers Licence,
  • Must submit a criminal record check, child abuse registry check and drug testing as per FRCN By-law 2004-01, sec. 8.01); To work in an environment that must be welcoming, supportive and secure those who are seeking shelter and Healing.
