The referred persons that have been referred to the committee from Judge, Crown Attorneys, local RCMP, Band Constable and other entities on reserve.
Ochekwiwanasowewin Justice Committee is a volunteer-based program that provides quality, confidential Restorative Justice and Mediation services with professionalism, respect and dedication to the wellness of our community.
It is an Aboriginal justice program that works with victims and offenders, as well as community members and elders. To consider cases referred by the Court, Police, Correctional Services, the Crown Prosecutor as an alternative to the formal court process, or in conjunction with the formal court process. The committee also takes referrals from any entities within Fisher River or any persons looking for advocacy.
