Septic Truck Operator (Full Time Position)
Summary
Under the supervision of the Public Works Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facility at Fisher River Cree Nation and to ensure the waste water facility is operated in such a manner that the community health and safety is priority and they do not damage the Environment.
Duties
- Regular pump outs to homeowners on the schedule;
- Operates and maintains equipment related to Sewage System: such as sewage collection systems, sewage lift stations, sewage lagoons, septic tanks, and other treatment systems including auxiliary power units, switch boards, plant heating and ventilations systems and all other equipment that is required for the waste water;
- Maintain the equipment and buildings as required;
- Keep records, daily logs and reports;
- Report to supervisor on problems that may occur within the sewage systems;
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Grade twelve education or GED equivalent is mandatory;
- The successful candidate will receive all required training both on the job and in a classroom setting in Winnipeg (maximum of two weeks time-frame away from home at a time).
- The successful candidate must be willing to be certified, as a wastewater plant operator level two and a wastewater collection system operator level one.
- Must be in good physical shape and able to meet the physical demand
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Must provide a copy of CLASS 5 LICENSE
- Must submit a driver’s abstract
- Must submit a medical certificate
- Must provide with Resume a Criminal Record Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
