Event Coordinator (6-month term)

First Nation Healing Centre is a non-profit organization geared to supporting community with domestic violence prevention programming. We are currently seeking an Event Coordinator. The Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events for the First Nation Healing Centre during the 6-month term. This role involves managing logistics, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring seamless event delivery from start to finish.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other staff to understand the event requirements and vision.
  • Develop comprehensive event plans, including timelines, budgets and schedules.
  • Source and manage vendors, venues and other event-related services.
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown.
  • Organize planning committee’s and volunteer orientation
  • Address any issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with clients and team members.
  • Manage event marketing efforts, including promotions and outreach, if required.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and areas of improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, or GED; plus, additional education or certification in event planning.
  • Proven experience in event planning, coordination or related field.
  • Strong organizational, time-management and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in event management and invoicing software and financial processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-site at events.
  • Valid Drivers License,
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team,
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Must be aware of the impact and effects of abuse on the lives of woman and children.
  • Must submit a criminal record check child abuse registry check, and drug test (as per the FRCN By-Law 2004-01, Sec. 8.01);
