The Fisher River Health Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Coordinator for its Medical Transportation Program. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Health, the Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Medical Transportation program for the community of Fisher River. The Coordinator will arrange medical travel, accommodations and meals for all referred appointments outside the community and also coordinate the Medical Drivers; the Coordinator will also be in a supervisory role for its Medical Transportation staff; the incumbent will also be responsible for monthly/annual reporting and documentation under the Medical Transportation Program and Non-Insured Health Benefits delivery system.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Formal training in Administration and/or a minimum of three years’ experience in administration work;
  • Must possess experience in a Supervisory role, providing direction and support to staff;
  • Understanding of the First Nations Health Care Delivery Services, the Medical Transportation Program and Non-Insured Health Benefits;
  • Knowledge of Health Information systems and Medical Terminology;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel, Data Entry/Windows, Internet/Emails;
  • Knowledge of reporting and data entry;
  • Good time management, use of critical thinking skills and excellent people skills;
  • Must be punctual, reliable, energetic and in good mental/physical health;
  • Must be able to work extended hours, and/or flex-hours as it pertains to Emergency travel arrangements, if needed;
  • Excellent writing & communication skills, respectful and able to work as a team member;
  • Must be able to take direction and follow through to completion of tasks;
  • Must adhere to FRCN Policies/Procedures, including Illegal Drug By-law and Criminal Record Check, Adult/Child Abuse Registry;
