3 FULL-TIME SECURITY GUARDS
(80 hours Bi- Weekly)

First Nation Healing Centre is a non-profit organization which is currently seeking (3) Security Guard(s). The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents, staff and property. This role involves monitoring the premises, responding to incidents and maintaining a peaceful environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol the shelter premises regularly to ensure safety and security.
  • Control access to facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and incidents providing assistance as needed.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the property to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Maintained detailed logs of daily activities, incidents and observations.
  • Collaborate with shelter staff to support residents and enforce shelter policies.
  • Provide a visible and reassuring presence to residents and staff.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in security or a related field preferred.
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work alone and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must have CPR/First Aid, or willing to obtain.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be prepared so that they can maintain a good, healthy mentorship with residents and staff.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and domestic violence issues. Must be aware of the impact and effects of abuse on the lives of woman and children.
  • Must be action oriented, demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must submit a criminal record check, Adult and child abuse registry’s check, and a drug test (as per the FRCN By-law 20004-01, Sec.801).
