Notice of Additional Voting Day (Land Code)

NOTICE OF ADDITIONAL DAY FOR VOTING

TO: Members of Fisher River Cree Nation
TAKE NOTICE that the Ratification Officer has determined that, due to severe inclement weather, an Additional Day for Voting shall be held in accordance with the Fisher River Cree Nation Community Ratification Process in order to determine if Eligible Voters approve the Fisher River Cree Nation Land Code and the Individual Agreement.
The following question will be asked of the Eligible Voters of Fisher River Cree Nation by ballot:
“Do you approve:
The Fisher River Cree Nation Land Code, dated June 1, 2018 and
The Individual Agreement with Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada?
The Additional Day for Voting for the Ratification Vote will take place on Wednesday the 1st day of August, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at:
The tent on the Fisher River Treaty Grounds (adjacent to the Open Air Hall) in the community of Fisher River Cree Nation in the Province of Manitoba.
The Alternative Voting Methods will remain available until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 1st day of August, 2018. Please visit: https://onefeather.ca/nations/fisherriver or call Lawrence Lewis at 1-250-889-1582.
Electronic and paper copies of the Background Documents, the Ratification Documents and the Ratification Process may be obtained from George Crate, Land Code Coordinator, at the Fisher River Cree Nation Administration Offices, the community of Fisher River Cree Nation, Province of Manitoba, telephone (204) 645-2171 or toll-free 1-866-645-2171.
Mail-in ballots received by the close of the polls on the Additional Day for Voting shall be deemed valid.
ELIGIBLE VOTERS CAN REGISTER AT THE POLLS UP TO THE CLOSE OF THE POLLS ON THE ADDITIONAL DAY FOR VOTING.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that all Members of Fisher River Cree Nation who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of the Official Voting Day (July 26, 2018) of the Ratification Vote are eligible to vote, PROVIDED THAT SUCH MEMBERS MUST COMPLETE A VOTER REGISTRATION DOCUMENT OR COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS. Voter registration documents are available from the community website at fisherriver.ca or the Ratification Officer at the address and telephone number appearing below.

NOTE: Approximately 674 Eligible Voters have voted in accordance with the Fisher River Cree Nation Community Ratification Process by the Official Day of Voting, July 26, 2018.
