Hello members of Fisher River Cree Nation. I hope everyone is doing well and practicing the social distancing and self isolation/monitoring that is recommended. I would like to provide the community with an update as to our elders in the PCH.
Everyone is doing well, and there has been no indication that our residents are having any symptoms of COVID-19. I would like to take this time and assure everyone that there are several measures that are put in place to ensure there is no risk of potentially bringin this virus into the PCH. We screen both staff and the residents several times a day. We also ensure that our staff that must travel are self-isolating when not at work.
Our professionals do take this very seriously and under no circumstance would they jeopardize the residents in any way. Because our residents are in a 24/7 facility, we ensure safety and as an essential service provider, we need to allow essential staff in to meet the requirements set out by the province. The province is working on a strategy as are we, to prevent travel as much as possible. Please trust in our strategies and be rest assured that your loved one is in the best care possible.
Staff are also wearing the required PPE (personal protective equipment) when providing care for our elders.
To date, all staff have been cooperative and following the guidelines set out by the PCH. If you have any questions or concerns, you are more than welcome to call the nurse on duty at 204.645.2811
