Please be advised that First Nations Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) has notified leadership and Fisher River Health Services this evening that 2 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the community. The 2 confirmed individuals have already been placed into Isolation.
Fisher River Health Services have already begun contact tracing and all close contacts will be put into Self-Isolation immediately followed by COVID-19 testing.
Please be assured that leadership, Fisher River Health Services and our health partners have already begun the process to ensure the safety of the membership and we will continue to update the membership as this situation progresses.
Due to the 2 new cases, Fisher River Administration Offices will be closed tomorrow until further notice.
Leadership and Health Services would also like to reminder our membership of safety protocols when going out in public:
- wearing a face mask in the public,
- maintain Social distancing.
- clean commonly touched surfaces,
- frequently wash hands for 20 seconds,
- avoid contact with sick individuals, and
- stay home if feeling sick, even if mild symptoms
And reminder to our members to refrain from posting concerns or reporting individuals on Social Media, as it can lead to panic and stress. Fisher River Health Services work very close with individuals to ensure the safety of our community. Fisher River Health Services have been preparing for such a situation from the beginning and all procedures and protocols are being followed to ensure the safety of the community.
