Parent Memo – February 19, 2021 (Charles Sinclair & Fisher River High School)

Tansi Parents & Guardians,

The first week is complete…and it was great to welcome the students back!  The schools are once again filled with sounds and sights of ‘normal’…. laughter, quiet conversations and students in the classrooms and hallways!

Yet, it is different.  This return is not as normal as we would like. We have health rules that are made to ensure the safest possible environment for all.  These rules must be followed.

Perhaps the biggest hurdle is that many students are having difficulty to maintain that social distancing rule.  This rule is so important in keeping everyone safe and healthy. Because it is difficult to determine who lives in the same household, we are requiring all students to follow the social distancing guidelines even if they stay in the same household. Grade 5 to 12 students who continually disregard the social distancing rule will be required to learn remotely.

It is the responsibility of the parent to screen their child for symptoms before sending their child to school. If a student begins exhibiting symptoms while in school, all members of that household must go home and return only after the student has been symptom free for 24 hours. If the student continues experiencing symptoms after 24 hours, parents can contact the COVID-19 Hotline at 431-256-0395 for more information or to arrange for testing.

As well, some reminders regarding our Re-Opening Safety Plan & Procedures,

  • Students cannot be dropped off at either school prior to 8:30. There is no supervision prior to 8:30 am.
  • Parents are also required to provide updated contact numbers and an emergency contact for students. To update your contact information, you can call Mandy at Charles Sinclair School (N-6) at 204-645-2206 or Marlene at Fisher River High School (7-12) 204-645-3313.

We thank parents and guardians for the continued support.

Sincerely,

Mr. Woodhouse, Principal, C.S.S
Mr. Hrechka, Principal, FRHS
Delores Bouchey, Vice Principal, FRHS
