BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS/SHARING KNOWLEDGE

Tansi,

On behalf of Fisher River Chief and Council, Councillor Darrell Thaddeus, Councillor Carl Cochrane and Housing Manager Candy Garson had the opportunity to visit Dakota Tipi First Nation on Thursday, May 6, 2021, to discuss and view their project of the Mini homes they had completed in the past year.

Dakota Tipi First Nation Chief Eric Pashe, their housing staff and partner, Mukwa Inc., Gage Lowry welcomed us with a nice luncheon, informative meeting and tour of the mini homes in their community.

We toured the one bedroom, 12 x 24 home as seen in the picture.  The two bedroom wasn’t available but is also pictured.

Fisher River is exploring different housing options that may benefit our community for every member and will take every opportunity to share and network with other First Nation communities on how they are addressing their housing situations in their communities.

It was a very pleasurable and inviting day and we would like to thank Dakota Tipi First Nation for their hospitality and look forward to keeping that connection.

Ekosi
