1.0 EFT – Suicide Intervention Worker
LOCATION: Fisher River Health Centre/Rainbow House Wellness Centre
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Mental Health Team Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Fisher River Cree Nation Health Services is seeking a Suicide Intervention Worker to join our Wellness Team. This is a rewarding opportunity if you have a desire for continuing professional development and enjoy the support and collaboration from our multidisciplinary team and various other professionals and entities, in helping create wellness within the community. The incumbent be familiar with the development and educational, emotional, social and recreational needs of young people as well as the family systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Social Work or related Human Services Field;
- Two year’s work related experience working with youth & adults, or training;
- Applied Suicide Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, Standard First Aid courses;
- Main areas to work on are with Prevention and Intervention;
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Must be prepared to work varied hours depending on job demands;
- Must be reliable and consistent;
- The ability to work in a team environment with children, youth, family and other professionals;
- Ability to work with budgets and workplans;
- Ability to prepare monthly stats and reports, newsletters and annual reports;
- Referrals as necessary and working closely with Addictions and Mental Health programs;
Additional Requirements:
- Own a vehicle and possess a valid Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License;
- Must be willing to travel when required;
- Must be willing to comply with a Criminal Record Check, Adult/Child Abuse Registry;
- Must be willing to abide with the FRCN Illegal Drug By-law;
