Today marked a momentous occasion as Fisher River Cree Nation celebrated the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Outdoor Structure/Rink!
The excitement and sense of community were palpable as Chief & Council, alongside community members, gathered to commemorate the completion of this incredible project. The new outdoor structure/rink will undoubtedly serve as a hub for recreational activities for our youth, fostering a sense of unity and providing a place for our community to come together.
During the ceremony, Chief & Council took a moment to express their heartfelt appreciation to the organizations that partnered to bring this project to reality. A big thank you goes out to Intertribal Child & Family Services, Sports & Recreation, and Jordan’s Principle for their invaluable support and collaboration. Their dedication and commitment to enhancing the lives of our community members are truly commendable. We are also grateful to Cobra Construction for their exceptional work in building the outdoor structure/rink, and CM Electric for their expertise in ensuring the project’s electrical needs were met.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Elder Stan McKay for leading us in the opening prayer and blessing the Structure/Rink. His wisdom and guidance have provided a spiritual foundation for this facility.
This momentous occasion is a testament to the power of collaboration and the strength of our community. It is a reminder that when we come together, great things can be achieved. The new outdoor structure/rink will not only provide a space for recreational activities for our youth but also serve as a symbol of resilience and progress for Fisher River Cree Nation.
Let us continue to foster a spirit of togetherness, celebrating our culture and traditions while creating new memories in this remarkable space. Congratulations to Chief & Council and everyone involved in making this project a reality!
