EFT 1.0 – MENTAL HEALTH WORKER

JOB SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Wellness Worker is responsible for planning, organizing, & conducting community mental, emotional and spiritual holistic supports services and activities that reflect positive lifestyle choices. The Mental Health Wellness Worker will network with community and external resources to assist in managing client care needs in the area of mental and emotional wellness. In addition, the Mental Health Wellness Worker will provide direct client care support within the capacity of the Mental Health Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Counseling Skills Diploma or other related certificate geared to counseling skills;
- Training & experience relevant to mental health and counseling;
- Experience and proficiency in case management;
- Understanding of First Nations Health Care Delivery and Services of Mental Health;
- Ability to work as a team support approach and work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to provide direction and support to direct service providers;
- Provide direct mental health care support to clients as required;
- Experience working with First Nations is an asset; knowledge of FRCN traditions;
- Knowledge of working with Work-plans and Budgets;
- Proficient in computerized systems (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point);
- Must be available to work flexible hours and to travel when required;
- Must have valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence and own vehicle (job related);
- Must adhere to FRCN Policies & Procedures, including the Illegal Drug By-law, Adult/Child Abuse Registry;
