Message from Service Canada regarding EI, CPP, OAS during the Canada Post Strike

Service Canada wants to ensure that everyone receiving benefits through Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, and Employment Insurance continue to receive their payments.   Clients who receive payments by cheque are encouraged to register for direct deposit. You can update or register for direct deposit by:

  • Visiting your nearest Service Canada Centre or Scheduled Outreach location; or
  • Submitting a call back request at eServices.Canada.ca; or
  • Calling one of several call centres such as:

o   Employment Insurance – 1-800-206-7218 

o   Canada Pension Plan/Old Age Security – 1-800-277-9914 

o   Canada Revenue Agency – 1-800-959-8281 or 1-800-O-Canada – 1-800-622-6232 

Clients wanting to apply for benefits or needing to submit supporting documents are encouraged to submit them online through the My Service Canada Account (MSCA). You can access your MSCA at My Service Canada Account (MSCA) – Canada.ca. Please note, the function for updating your direct deposit information in your MSCA is currently unavailable. Please use of the methods mentioned above.
