Leigh is a member of the Fisher River Cree Nation, and is the eldest daughter of Marge & Dan Murdock.
In 2015 Leigh obtained her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Red River Community College. Upon graduation, she gained employment as a psychiatric nurse at the St. Boniface Hospital from 2015 to November 2024.
Her professional career includes Geropsychiatric, Mental Health & Addictions and Emerge nursing. Aside from bed side nursing, she also contributed to a working group that made evidence-based revisions to Policy & Procedures. In addition, she participated in the Leadership committee and was a preceptor to senior practicum nursing students.
Leigh brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise and is a strong believer in supporting safe patient centered care with a holistic delivery. She appreciates the opportunity to give back to her community, and looks forward to working with the Residents, their families and the staff.
