Fisher River Board of Education Flood Preparedness Plan
Includes: Charles Sinclair School, Fisher River High School, Verna J. Kirkness and Wee Care Day Care Centre
The Chief and Council have informed the Board of Education that a State of Emergency declaration does not automatically result in school closures.
The primary purpose of declaring a State of Emergency is to mobilize resources, access emergency funding from Indigenous Services Canada and the Province of Manitoba, and enforce mandatory evacuations if necessary.
To reiterate, schools will only close during a State of Emergency if explicitly recommended by the Chief and Council.
