Fisher River Cree Nation Chief & Council are pleased to announce the hiring of Lorne Cochrane as our new Director of Operations, effective Monday, May 25.
Lorne brings more than 35 years of leadership, management, and administrative experience, along with extensive knowledge of First Nations governance, programs, and community development. A member and former Chief/Councillor of Fisher River Cree Nation, he has served in many key leadership roles, including Chair of the Fisher River Economic Development Corporation, Managing Partner of Indigenous Management Group, Executive Director of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, and Regional Director General for Indian and Northern Affairs Canada in Manitoba.
Lorne is a respected leader with a strong commitment to community-focused solutions and advancing opportunities for First Nations people. We look forward to his leadership and welcome him to this important role.
