JOB SUMMARY: The Fisher River Cree Nation Health Services requires a RN/BN to provide public health and treatment services for the community of Fisher River Cree Nation
Under the direction of the Nurse in Charge, the Community Health Nursing component includes:
- Public Health Education
- School Health
- Clinical and community health services
- Immunization
- Prevention services
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or Diploma prepared Nurse with related Community Health experience, advanced training and/or experience in nursing management.
- Active practicing membership with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
- Current CPR & First Aid
- BTLS/ITLS Certification
- Knowledge of Fisher River Health Services policies and of Community Health related to physical, mental, emotional & spiritual health.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to complete correspondence, documents and reports.
- Skills and ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Skills and ability to foster positive human and public relations.
- Experience and skills in handling challenging and stressful situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent physical, mental and emotional health.
- Reliable and demonstrates personal motivation and initiative.
- Demonstrates a respectful and positive attitude towards work, colleagues, management, board and the general public.
- Must be willing to participate in continuing education and personal/professional development as it relates to the work area.
- Proficient in computerized programs; knowledge of eHealth Solutions
- Must submit an Adult/Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check.
- Must abide by FRCN Policies & Procedures, including adhering to Illegal Drug Test
- A valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License.
