Please be advised that the community is in the amidst of an COVID-19 Outbreak. We strongly advise that families please stay within your family bubbles during the Thanksgiving weekend. As per our COVID-19 Security Measures:

  • Limits for Indoor Gatherings at a Private Residences is (5) five visitors, in addition to those who reside there.
  • Limits for Outdoor Gatherings at a Private Residences is (10) ten visitors from no more than two other households, in addition to those who reside there, are permitted outdoors on private property.

Large Household Gatherings & Parties (over the limits stated above) will not be tolerated.  Anyone caught having parties or gathering(s) may be subject to fines/penalties issued from the RCMP, fines start from $1,296.00 and up.

The following changes are in effect until further notice:

  • NO Outdoor Public Gatherings: Parks, Ball Diamonds, Treaty Grounds, etc.

Also, effective immediately at the recommendation of First Nations Inuit Health; all double vaccinated who have been identified as a close contact will be under mandatory isolation for a minimum 10 days.

Please remember to follow the best practices when out & about even when in the community, regardless if you are double vaccinated or not:

  • wearing a face mask in the public,
  • maintain Social distancing,
  • clean commonly touched surfaces,
  • frequently wash hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer,
  • avoid contact with sick individuals,
  • stay home if feeling sick, even if mild symptoms; and
  • limiting carpooling or travelling in vehicles other than your immediate household family members. If you must travel with individuals outside your immediate house, please wear a mask.

It is very important that individuals please remain home and isolate if you are feeling unwell. Anyone breaking Health required isolation orders will be fined issued by the RCMP.
