We are seeking a dedicated and personable Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for greeting visitors, managing phone calls and providing essential administrative support. Under the supervision of the Executive Director the successful candidate will also be responsible for providing a wide range of clerical functions including the following key activities:
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Greet and direct incoming clients to appropriate personnel and/or departments.
- Answer telephone calls and direct calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Respond to general inquiries in a friendly courteous manner.
- Post and advertise functions, events, meetings and other relevant material.
- Type, photocopy and distribute material when required.
- Type memos, correspondence and notices when required.
- Knowledge of Minute taking for Departmental meetings when required.
- Record all incoming/outgoing mail and forward all incoming mail/faxes to appropriate personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A certificate from a college or technical institute in office applications and procedures and/or (6) six months related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of general office procedures, practices and office equipment operations is required.
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An updated Criminal Record and Adult Abuse Registry checks along with 2 references required (one being your most recent employer).
