On Wednesday April 29, 2020, Premier Pallister announced the multi-phase plan will begin next week, on May 4. At this time the province will begin to open some businesses and increase recreation opportunities, including non-essential healthcare and retail businesses.
After discussions with their respective Councils, Fisher River Cree Nation leadership along with Peguis First Nation and Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation have collectively agreed to extend COVID-19 restrictions to May 18, 2020 and then will be re-evaluated to see if cases spike with the provincial reopening.
COVID-19 Restrictions:
- Continuation of Checkpoints
- Prohibited travel to City of Winnipeg, City of Selkirk, Town of Gimli, City of Dauphin and communities/city along with TransCanada Highway #1
- Curfew
- Time limit to travel to Fisher Branch & Arborg
- Limits to Gatherings & Funerals
Essential Service providers such as Bell MTS, Manitoba Hydro, Emergency personal will not be affected.
