As of September 4, 2020, it is mandatory to wear a face mask in each business in Fisher River Cree Nation. Community members are requested to carry and use their own cloth face mask while in public, however most business’s will have disposable face masks if needed. This past year two loads of freezers and refrigerators were removed from the Fisher River landfill for proper disposal of the refrigerant they contain, and then to be recycled. To date 50 appliances have been disposed of in an environmentally responsible way. The 1-megawatt facility has almost 3,000 solar panels and was built entirely by Indigenous employees.
