Fisher River Health Services in working with our First Nations Inuit Health Branch, Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority and University of Manitoba partners are pleased to announce expanded COVID-19 testing capacity in the community. The testing is expected to begin tomorrow Sunday September 13, 2020 at the Community Centre. Specific details will be announced later today.
The rapid COVID-19 test will be for individuals named as close contacts, those experiencing symptoms and for Fisher River Cree Nation members ONLY at this time. Individuals looking to get tested will go through the proper procedures and screening to determine if testing is warranted.
In addition to the lab and rapid COVID-19 testing unit at Percy Moore Hospital, the IERHA will be establishing mobile COVID-19 testing in Peguis First Nation for Peguis members only at this time; and members of Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation along with the broader area looking for COVID-19 testing can contact Percy E. Moore Hospital at 204.372.8444.
Stay vigilant, stay safe, stay strong and be respectful; we as a community will get through this together.
