Statement from Chief David Crate and Council – February 24, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce that Councillor Carl “Poggy” Cochrane has begun his journey home to be with Creator this morning Thursday February 24, 2022, with his dear wife and family by his side at Percy E. Moore Hospital. Fisher River Cree Nation leadership and the entire community send our deepest condolences to Poggy’s wife Jeannie, Daughter Carla, Grandson Kwinton, Granddaughter Kaleeya and to his entire family and friends, far and near.

Chief David Crate, Councillors Darrell Thaddeus, Hillary Murdock and Cory Murdock and the community of Fisher River Cree Nation thank Councillor Carl “Poggy” Cochrane for his 20+ years of service to the community as a member of Council. Poggy’s contributions to the betterment of Fisher River Cree Nation can be felt and seen throughout the entire community.

The Chief & Council would thank Jeannie and family for sharing Carl with us all these years and we ask that you keep the family in your prayers in the coming days.
