The Fisher River Board of Education invites applications for a Maintenance/Custodian Person

Provide daily maintenance and custodian services at the Verna J. Kirkness Institute of Higher Learning and may include other designated Education Facilities, as required. Duties will include but not limited to:

  1. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, grounds maintenance.
  2. Inspect, operate and maintain heating, cooling and ventilation systems.

Requirements:

  1. Current First Aid & WHIMIS required or willing to acquire;
  2. A valid driver’s license;
  3. Must be in good physical and mental health; due to the workload and heavy lifting;
  4. Must be reliable and responsible, ability to work with minimal supervision and under stressful situations at times;
  5. Must be able to work independently, as well as a team member;
  6. Ability to take direction and follow through;
  7. Ability to lift, push and pull required;
  8. Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend;
  9. A positive attitude towards students, co-workers, supervisors & management;
  10. Ability to operate skid steer, front end loader, and other equipment. Certificate to operate will be an asset;
  11. Should have one year work experience in general maintenance and cleaning services
