RE: Update on COVID-19 #6
As of today, MB Health Media Bulletin #18, Public health officials advise that seven additional presumptive positive case of COVID-19 has been identified in Manitoba. This brings the total number of lab-confirmed positive and presumptive positive cases in Manitoba to 15. Patient contact and public health investigations are on-going.
As of March 16, 2,280 tests have been completed for COVID-19 in Manitoba.
Public health officials are recommending the immediate suspension of visitors in long- term care facilities across Manitoba. Exceptions for compassionate reasons or end of  life will be made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of individual facility managers.
It is highly recommended not to be in any groups consisting of more than 50 people, good distance between people should be followed at all times.
Interlake-Eastern RHA is opening drive-through community testing sites for screening and testing for COVID-19. Screening and testing is recommended for individuals that have upper respiratory cold or flu like symptoms and have travelled internationally or those who have these symptoms and have had direct contact with individuals who have recently travelled internationally and/or tested positive for COVID-19.
Testing site locations
In Selkirk, a testing site will open tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18th starting in the afternoon. After tomorrow, it will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 622 Superior Avenue. This site will be open seven days a week unless otherwise noted.
Information on additional testing sites in the communities of Pine Falls and Eriksdale will be released later this week.
Health Centre Updates:
 Although we have decreased Physician services, our health centre remains open.
With all of us playing a part to keep the spread contained, please try to keep your travel at a minimum.
Remember to wash, wash & wash, cover your cough, no hand shakes, and distance yourself 2 feet from others.
