Manitoba Update on Seasonal Influenza

Manitoba Health advises that seasonal influenza continues to circulate throughout the province at a higher level than what is usually seen at this time of year. People at highest risk from seasonal flu include children under the age of five, people aged 65 and older, and people of any age with underlying medical conditions. Gathering Brings Home Elders

Great turn out for today for the Elders Gathering. We welcomed elders from on-reserve and brought home many off-reserve elders by charter, many who never been home in many years. Councillor Delaney Mason was also sworn into office today in front our elders after successfully being elected in the by-election. The elders enjoyed entertainment, visiting and of course Bingo. Thank you to all who came out and to the organizers; we look forward to the next gathering!

There will be a Veterans Day service on November 11 at 10:30am. The service will take place at the Veterans Monument in Fisher River with Stan McKay officiating.
