Notice of Temporary Closure of the United Church due to Code Red Restrictions
Dear Chief, Council Members and Covid-19 Team: Effective immediately and until further notice, the Fisher River United Church hereby closes its doors temporarily to all services in our church due to the recent 'Code Red' that Manitoba has been placed under. Fisher River Cree Nation gives students free laptops and internet access for online learning
Fisher River Cree Nation is making the transition to online learning easier by giving students in the community a free laptop or iPad and internet connection device. "It's a great thing… because not every family actually has the money to afford a laptop," said Grade 12 student Koby Wilson. Fines Issued for Breach of Health Orders Over the Weekend
The Chief & Council would like to advise the community that the RCMP have issued fines over the weekend for breach of Health & Safety Orders. The fines issued are like the traffic ticket violations and must be paid within the time stated. Failure to not pay the fine can result in the ticket going to collections and effecting your credit score. Fisher River Chief and Council would like to remind FRCN Community Members that fines will be issued if they are not following the Health & Safety orders; and that social gatherings of parties,etc. will not be tolerated in Fisher River Cree Nation at this time.
